We focus on sensitive architectural restoration, maintaining the value and integrity of a wide range of historic homes. Whether it is a modernist glass house, a Spanish revival estate, an expansive Tudor home, or many other historical aesthetics, we work with preservation professionals to integrate environmental technologies within period architecture.

Sarah's personal connection to historic preservation helps our studio approach these projects with a deeper sensitivity and understanding. Sarah has lived in several historic homes and has come to appreciate the value of these spaces and the detail and craftsmanship involved in their maintenance.

Sarah has served on the Santa Monica Conservancy's Board of Directors and worked with the Heritage Square Museum, for which the City of Los Angeles awarded her a Certificate of Appreciation. She has also appeared as a speaker on historic preservation and sustainability for the California Preservation Foundation.

Her experience in historic preservation has emphasized the importance of recognizing and working with historically accurate and period-appropriate material selections, including wallpaper, carpeting, draperies, artwork, and lighting. Beyond selecting decorative materials, Sarah collaborates with craftspeople in the custom creation of historical reproductions from windows, doors, moldings, hardware, mantlepieces, and ornamental glasswork, as well as locating salvaged materials from other buildings to maintain historical accuracy. Our studio takes extra care when working with clients to design a space that meets their desire for historically authentic design.

In addition to historic preservation and restoration, Sarah works with many clients on their historic properties to incorporate more contemporary conveniences and aesthetics while maintaining the original home's character and charm.
